'Bill Smith' Cup
The annual ‘Bill Smith’ Cup was won this year by Ieuan Roberts our treasurer, playing against Gwynneth Jones. It sounds like the finals in a Welsh competition! It was well contested, and the winner was congratulated by Rachel the widow of Bill Smith in whose memory the cup is awarded.

Jill, Joan and Don Triple's Competition Joan James was skip for the winning team in this year’s final for the triples award. Playing with Jill Trigg and Don Dickenson who were able to match the team headed up by Jack Smith ,with Eileen Watkins and Tony Cale. Final score 11 to 4.

Ladies Singles Competition
June Smith and Pam Ambury had a fine old battle in the Ladies Singles competition finals with June Smith winning the trophy.

Men's Singles Competition
In the Men’s singles competition the semi-finals were close at the finish leaving Jack Smith to battle it out with Tony Harris. The final score of 5 shots to 12 fails to give a true picture of the game. Tony Harris fought well, even killing one end to gain a restart. It is only the second time in the history of Lea Club that a defending champion has been successful in keeping the cup. |

Club Singles Competition
Club singles final between Rolf Zimmermann and Eileen Watkins was played on Oct 15th with Rolf taking the trophy yet again. It is good to note that Rolf was the very first wnner of this trophy. |

Four's Competition
The club fours were played on the 15th October. The team of Gwynn, Joan, Tony Harris and Rolf, seemed to have it all sewn up by end five, but the team of David, Janet, Jill and Don came back to steal the game with Dave winning through on the last end. Unfortunately for them in the final, they came up against a fresh team of Ieuan, Gwen, Eileen and Pam, who, after winning the first end by six points never looked back, holding on to their advantage and take the 2006 title. |
